About Clinical Hypnotherapy
Modern Clinical Hypnotherapy utilises the clinically-proven techniques of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), SFBT (Solution-Focused Brief Therapy) and other cognitive approaches.
When these approaches are combined with a hypnotic trance state it empowers clients to make significant positive changes, such as changing restrictive thought patterns and resolving undesirable and unwanted patterns of behaviour.
Hypnotic trance is a normal and natural method of altering someone’s state of consciousness. During this trance state the subconscious part of your mind (where all our past experiences and emotions are stored) is more receptive and this allows beneficial change to be induced.
Hypnosis is a very pleasant and relaxing experience and contrary to what we may believe by watching stage or television shows, you do not lose awareness or control, in fact during trance our awareness is heightened. There is no such thing as a ‘hypnotised’ feeling, the experience is different for each person.
At all times you will be encouraged you to respond within your own comfort zone into a state of deep relaxation and it should always be remembered that at all times you remain in control, and if at any time wish the session to be terminated then you will be perfectly capable of doing so.
After the session you will be always be returned to a full waking state.
